Elixir is a functional programming language created by José Valim. It is a dialect of Lisp that runs on the Erlang virtual machine. Elixir has been designed to make development more productive and fun, while also maintaining the robustness and concurrency of Erlang. Elixir programs are written in an extended version of erlang's syntax.
