Chapel is a high-level parallel programming language designed for speed, ease of use, and programmer productivity. It offers a unique combination of features: an intuitive, data-centric syntax; implicit parallelism; and portable, high-performance code. Chapel is statically typed and garbage collected. It has been developed by Cray Inc. with input from the scientific community to address the needs of next-generation scientific computing applications.
